2024 Alberta Sport Recognition Awards Nominations

The 2024 Alberta Sport Recognition Award Nominations are now open! The Alberta Sport Recognition Awards program was established in 1987 to acknowledge the outstanding achievements and commitment of athletes, coaches, officials, and volunteers in the province. We are asking all our Provincial Sport Organizations to nominate athletes, coaches, technical officials, and volunteers in your organizations that have made an impact on the national and international stage. We want to recognize their achievements and contribution to your organization and sport in Alberta.

National Coaches Week - Coach Profile

From apprentice wrestling coach to winner of the Amazing Race Canada to heading back to the 2025 Canada Summer Games in St. Johns, Taylor McPherson is on an amazing coaching journey. As an athlete, McPherson narrowly missed out on competing at the 2017 Canada Games, but went on to win multiple conference and national medals for the University of Alberta Pandas and even competed for Team Canada at the U23 World Wrestling Championships in 2021 and 2022. Now she is a role model for so many! It is National Coaches week so say #Thankscoach to the coach that has made a difference.
