Team Alberta
Team Alberta completed the 2019 Western Canada Summer Games in Swift Current, Saskatchewan with 299 medals.
“On behalf of all Albertans, congratulations to Team Alberta on their incredible showing at this year’s Western Canada Summer Games. This includes the athletes, coaches and staff who so capably represented our province through excellence in sport,” said Leela Sharon Aheer, Minister of Culture, Multiculturalism and Status of Women, responsible for sport in Alberta. “As leaders in sport, I know this experience will serve you well in future competitions and in your future careers. We also send our thanks to the community of Swift Current for hosting the games and making everyone feel so welcome.” Team Alberta captured 129 gold, 92 silver and 78 bronze medals at the Games.
The 10-day competition featured approximately 1,700 top young athletes, coaches, officials and mission staff from Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, Yukon and Nunavut. Team Alberta delivered strong performances in many of the 16 sports.

Team Alberta Final Results Summary
The Western Canada Summer Games were established in 1975 as a multi-sport event to provide development opportunities for amateur athletes and to help them advance their skills in a competitive, but friendly environment.
The games serve to broaden the exposure of talented athletes and provide a training ground for national and international level competitions. The 2019 Western Canada Summer Games will include athletes from Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut. Team Alberta will be sending 418 athletes, coaches competing in 16 different sports.
The 2019 Western Canada Summer Games are being hosted by the province of Saskatchewan in Swift Current August 9-18, 2019. More information on the host can be found at 2019wcsg.ca
425 athletes, coaches, managers and mission staff, representing 57 Alberta communities will participate in the 2019 Western Canada Summer Games. Team Alberta will be competing in all 16 sports over the two phases of the Games.
