Up at Canyon Meadows, the slopestyle events were featured, and Team Alberta advanced three skiers into the women’s finals and two in the men’s final, with local athlete Megan Cressey of Sylvan Lake, AB leading the charge for Alberta.

In the main event, Megan Cressey of Sylvan Lake, AB, posted a solid second run of 78.0 points to secure the silver medal. Teammate Dillan Glennie finished fourth, while Emma Morozumi finished sixth.

British Columbia’s Skye Clarke took the gold medal with a run judged at 84.60 points.

The men also fared well, with Jake Sandstrom, 18, of Calgary, AB taking the silver medal with a performance worthy of 85.20 points. Sandstrom finished behind Gold medallist Edouard Thériault and in front of Jesse Gross of Ontario.
