(February 20, 2019 – Red Deer, AB) Team Alberta is enjoying significant successes at the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, AB, adding seven medals on Wednesday in speedskating, biathlon, freestyle skiing and artistic swimming.

Brooklyn McDougall continued her domination in long track speed skating, winning her fifth medal in five races at the Canada Games, this time a silver medal in the women’s 1000m. Kaleb Muller also added a silver medal to his collection, his fourth of the games.

In Biathlon, both the men’s and women’s team earned some medals, with the women taking home the gold medal and the men the silver medal.

At the pool, Alberta won gold in the Artistic Swimming duet event, the first gold in the event for Alberta since 1999.

On snow, freestyle skiers brought home two silver medals in the spectacular slopestyle event.

There are more medal opportunities later tonight in boxing with two boxers competing for the gold medal, and a boxer competing for the bronze medal.
