Home Study Course

The Home Study Program is a learning option for coaches who cannot attend in person a regularly scheduled National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) course because of circumstances beyond their control.

The Home Study Program allows a coach to test out the material with his/her athletes as the course progresses, and to work on the course within a set time frame.

A coach completes a series of exercises and tasks in the course workbook, which is submitted to a learning facilitator for marking and feedback.

The following NCCP Multi-Sport Modules are available as Home Study courses:

  • Make Ethical Decisions
  • Competition Introduction Part A Bundle (Make Ethical Decisions, Nutrition, Planning a Practice)
  • Competition Introduction Part B Bundle (Basic Mental Skills, Design a Basic Sport Program, Teaching & Learning)
  • Competition Development Modules:
    • Coaching and Leading Effectively
    • Psychology of Performance
    • Managing Conflict
    • Developing Athletic Abilities
    • Leading Drug Free Sport
    • Prevention and Recovery
