What do I need to volunteer?

  • You must be a minimum of 14 years of age to volunteer. Except where special permission has been granted.

  • You must be committed to fulfill 2 scheduled volunteer shifts – this will be set up with your volunteer coordinator who will contact you prior to the Games.

  • You must provide a clear vulnerable sector/criminal record check dated September 1, 2017 or later (this is available free of charge for Games Volunteers – a volunteer coordinator will provide you with the required documentation from the Games).

  • You must wear the supplied uniform and accreditation, along with dark coloured bottoms (black, dark blue, or dark gray are recommended) when you are actively on a volunteer shift. (remove accreditation when not on shift.)

  • You must adhere to the 2018 Wood Buffalo Alberta Winter Games Volunteer Code of Conduct and present yourself in a responsible and respectful manner.

  • Please note, some volunteer roles may require a valid driver’s license, lifting, working outdoors, standing for extended periods of time.
