2018 Wood Buffalo Alberta Winter Game celebrates 100-Days-Out with ticket sale launch

(Fort McMurray, AB – November 8, 2017) – The countdown to the 2018 Wood Buffalo Alberta Winter Games continues with the launch of ticket sales!

Tickets are now on sale for Opening Ceremonies, and weekend and single day passes to sport competition. Opening Ceremonies takes place on February 16, 2018, at 7 pm at the Shell Place Baseball Stadium. Competition events run from February 17 – 19, 2018.

“The Games are only 100 days away and we are excited to mark this milestone with the launch of ticket sales,” says Michelle Toner, General Manager of the 2018 Wood Buffalo Alberta Winter Games. “Tickets are available in-person and online through the MacDonald Island Box Office. Online tickets will be promoted across the province as athletes qualify to represent their zones at the Games, we encourage people to purchase early to avoid disappointment.” Opening Ceremonies tickets and the number of weekend passes available are limited.

The 2018 Wood Buffalo Alberta Winter Games hosts 22 sporting events over three days of competition across 11 venues within the region.

Weekend passes include access to all sporting competitions during the three days, including medal games/matches, with the exception of snow sports at Vista Ridge*. Single tickets include access to any sporting events on the chosen date, with the exception of snow sports at Vista Ridge*.

*Tickets are not required at Vista Ridge, however, a walker fee or a chairlift fee for skiers will need to be paid for those attending.

The 2018 Wood Buffalo Alberta Winter Games take place February 16 – 19, 2018, and operate in partnership with the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo and Alberta Sport Connection.
